Inventory items in the portal are managed by 'identifiers'. An item may have multiple identifiers, such as the SKU, UPC, GTIN, ASIN, FNSKU, or any alpha-numeric custom SKU. However, an item's primary identifier is the merchant SKU. Every item must have a SKU, and may only have one SKU at any time.
If an item's SKU must be changed, a request or 'task' is created in both Inbound and Outbound Shipments sections of the portal. This guide will walk you through the steps to transfer inventory to a new SKU.
STEP 1: Log into the Prep It Pack It Ship It portal.
STEP 2: Navigate to the "Inbound Shipment" and select "New Shipment".
STEP 3: Enter "TASK - Transfer SKU to [Enter New SKU] from SKU [Enter Old SKU]" as a shipment name.
STEP 4: Select "Create Shipment". Please use the "Notes" section for any instructions.
STEP 5: Select "Add Item".
STEP 6: Add the item (New SKU) and input the desired "Quantity". This step ensures clarity regarding the quantity of the SKU for transfer.
STEP 7: Navigate to the "Outbound Shipment", to create another task. And select "New Shipment".
STEP 8: Enter "TASK - Transfer SKU from [Enter Old SKU] to SKU [Enter New SKU]".
STEP 9: Select "Create Shipment". Please use the "Notes" section for any instructions.
STEP 10: Select "Add Item".
STEP 11: Add the item (OLD SKU) and input the desired "Quantity" This step ensures clarity regarding the quantity of the SKU for transfer.
The completed SKU Transfer Task should look like this:
Once the transfer is completed, products may be shipped under the new SKU. Following this
procedure ensures that the correct products are shipped to Amazon and that inventory
quantities are accurate.
