How to Add a Product Identifier to an Item in the Portal

Created by Diana Miller, Modified on Thu, 16 May at 8:57 AM by Brian Cummings

Inventory items in the portal are identified and managed by specific code numbers, such as the SKU (or Stock-Keeping Units), UPC, GTIN, ASIN, FNSKU, or any alpha-numeric custom SKU.

The SKU is the primary identifying number for a product in the portal. Every item must have a SKU, and may only have one SKU at any time.

Identifiers match products among multiple marketplaces, platforms and suppliers. They make items easily searchable and identifiable within the portal.

This guide will walk you through the process of adding identifiers to items in the portal.

STEP 1: Log in to the Prep It Pack It Ship It Portal.

STEP 2: Navigate to the "Inventory" page.

STEP 3: Select the inventory item to assign an identifier.

STEP 4: Select the "Identifiers" from the inventory sub-menu.

STEP 5: Select the type of identifier you prefer from the "Identifier Type" drop-down menu by selecting it.

STEP 6: Input your identifier into the designated "Identifier" text box.

STEP 7: Select "Add Identifier" to save.
